Eight works by me will be displayed at Der Teufelhof, a hotel and cultural venue with restaurants, hotels, art, and theatres all under one roof in the historic center of Basel, Switzerland as part of a Mixed Media exhibition from August 2014 to August 2015.
My work will be in A Fine Line: Drawings and Other Interpretations, a Rocky Neck Art Colony juried exhibition at the RNAC's Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, Gloucester, MA. The show was juried by Al Miner, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The show will be up from July 3rd to August 3rd, and the opening will be on July 12th from 4 to 6. The RNAC Cultural Center is open Thursday through Sunday, 12 to 6 or by appointment.
Sadly I will not be there, but if anyone's in Chicago and looking for something to do on May 3rd, the Graze Release Party will be at the The Charnal House from 8 to 11 pm and sounds like a very fun time. The $10 ticket covers food, drinks, music, and most excitingly of all a copy of issue five of Graze which contains my illustrations for "Relish" by Andrew Ladd, as well as lots of other terrific writing and art! My watercolor Ice Fishing has been accepted for Here By The Sea: Contemporary Art of The Piscataqua at the Sarah Orne Jewett House and Visitor Center in Sourth Berwick, ME. The show will be up from June 1st to October 15th and the opening will be on May 31st from 5 to 7:30.
One of my drawings has been accepted to Galex 48 at the Galesburg Civic Arts Center in Illinois. The show was juried by Dr. Rima Gurnius, Chief Curator at the Figge Art Museum, and will be up from March 15th to April 12th.
One of my Tangles has been accepted to the 2014 20"x20"x20": A National Compact Competition and Exhibition at Louisiana State University's Union Art Gallery. The juror was Shana Barefoot, Collection and Exhibitions Manager at The Georgia Museum of Contemporary Art.
Three of my works will be included in the 12th Annual Art in Motion, from February 6th to 13th at Northwestern University's Lurie Center Ryan Family Atrium located at 303 E. Superior, Chicago, IL, 60611. The show was curated by James Rondeau, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The Art Institute of Chicago.
The proceeds from Art in Motion support Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago's Art Therapy program. The Opening Night and Awards Celebration will be in Thursday, February 6th from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and tickets can be purchased here.
